Monsieur got style: Mboko Ndimba Mobutu.

Pictures via his blog http://www.musicfashionart.com/

Today, our Monsieur with style is Mboko Ndimba Mobutu, you must saw him at least once, he's often taking in pictures by the most famous street style photographs but information about him are very hard to find  because we don't know his name ! So, to solve this enigma , I did a lot of research and finally found his name and his contact, I asked him to answer few of my questions and he nicely accepted.
I think Mboko has an amazing ability to pull colorful outfit together , his style is classic but still young , fresh and fun , despite his young age he's always dress to kill and his style is very unique, I let you learn more about him by reading the interview and his very complete and smart answers.

Interview:

Your style is:
classic with a twist. I like classic elegance but with its own share of personal playful modern feel to it.

Your must-have is/are:
a wide collection of shoes from luxurious models to more affordable ones.

Your background:
I actually studied communications and advertising after graduating. While still studying I interned twice as a fashion PR assistant, I then was approached to join online magazine GHUBAR's team as editor/stylist. Later on I started interning as a stylist's assistant for weekly fashion and lifestyle French women magazine "Be" then became editor/stylist for it not too long ago.

Your inspirations:
multi-tasking hard working and talented forces such as Milan Vukmirovic, Anna Wintour and such. As well as people that understand fashion in a way that they are able to produce iconic imagery that are larger than the entity they represent or work for on a stylistic, photographic level or else. I'm thinking of the Grace Coddingtons, Mert & Marcuses, Tommy Tons, and others. Without forgetting about writers as well.

Your icon:
I'm not sure I have one and I wouldn't want to give away a name just for the sake of it. You'd have to ask me a few years from now.

Your signature mark:
As of lately, I would say that it is color-blocking. On a regular basis I guess either my glasses, the fact that I roll up my pants, hardly wear socks or my overall "preppy" look. People should answer that for me actually.

Your strong point:
mixing and pulling off not necessarily easy or obvious combinations that most people wouldn't dare venturing in.

The biggest fashion faux-pas for you is:
I don't really believe in them even if I know the industry would like us to dictate some by definition. I think what could be considered a fashion faux-pas on someone could work really well on someone else. If I have to pick one anyway, I'd say white sports socks with classic shoes for a man or turquoise-blue shirts. Those two, I have a hard time with.

Your favorite brands:
Easily Dries Van Noten, Tom Ford and Burberry Prorsum.

The trends you will rock this coming F/W are:
loud bright colors, tartan and checks, the preppy look.

The thing you can't live without:
So shallow to say but my MacBook, I'd say. Fashion-wise, it is hard to say because I easily get tired of pretty much everything and I'm always eager for newness.

Your advice to the Messieurs is:
Not to give a damn. Or at least try. It takes some kind of courage to get out there and stylistically assume who you are when you make strong statements through your style.

P.S: Thanks again to Mboko for his contribution ! x Iman.
